Founded and patented by English businessman George F. Muntz in 1832, Muntz Metal (C28000 or C280) is primarily used in architectural applications owing to its distinctive color. It is highly plastic metal at red heat that makes it ideal for pressing, stamping and hot forging. The metal alloy is also appreciated for high electrical and thermal conductivity, high ductility, high impact strength, good creep resistance, ease of welding, and low volatility under high vacuum.

Alloy C35330 Brass is a copper-zinc-lead alloy with small proportions of arsenic, mainly having alpha phase structure in the as used heat treated condition, with fine dispersion of lead particles. The alloy possess excellent machining ability, good cold forming properties with high resistance to dezincification.

The Dezincification Resistant C48600 Forging Brass is composed of 60% copper, 39.2% zinc and 0.8% tin. The brass possess good strength and rigidity with duplex alpha + beta structure. The addition of zinc in place of tin makes the alloy high corrosion resistant against seawater. The addition of tin makes it resistant to dezincification and also inhibit the impingement by seawater at higher than normal temperatures. The alloy is appreciated for wear resistance, resistance towards stress corrosion cracking, galling and fatigue.
