C68700 Aluminum Brass

UNS CDA101, ASTM B187, ASTM B152, CuZn20Al2As

The C68700 Aluminum Brass contains small amount of arsenic and can also be added as inhibitor against dezincification. The aluminum brass is mainly used while manufacturing the condensor tubes as these stops the action causes by brackish water and high velocity salts. The metal alloy is resistant to impingement attack and the tubes are also recommended for using in power stations.

The C66800 Manganese Brass comes under the category of naval brass and is composed of 60% copper, 39.2% zinc and 0.8% tin. In compliance with typical naval brass the alloy possess good strength as well as rigidity. The corrosion resistance towards sea water is achieved due to the presence of zinc in place of tin. The addition of tin also makes the alloy resistant towards dezincification, fatigue, galling, and stress corrosion cracking.
